Learning Conferences

What is a Learning Conferences?
Ohoka School holds two Learning Conferences during the year for all students.
At the beginning of the year teachers,  students and parents meet together to discuss the students learning to date, and any challenges that have existed for the student and to set goals together for the year ahead.

Mid year Learning Conferences are held to discuss progress throughout the year.  These are led by students, as research clearly shows that students owning and leading their learning is the most effective way for them to engage in successful outcomes.

For Junior students, conferences are held at the beginning of the year as above, and then at Anniversary of enrolment to discuss progress.  Students again, are fully involved so that they 'own' their learning.
Parents are most welcome to make times outside of the above to discuss the learning of their child with the teacher.
Conferences are booked online.  Parents are alerted to the upcoming conferences and are asked to book online for these.
